Senior Pastor Samuel Compton, Sr.

Samuel Compton Sr. was raised in the Settegast Community of Northeast Houston with the Christ-centered guidance of the late Reverend T.J. and Dr. Esther Compton. With the spiritual guidance of his father and Pastor, Rev. T.J. Compton, he accepted Christ at an early age.  With his father’s example, Pastor Compton’s commitment to community began.

 

Pastor Compton’s educational journey led him from B.C. Elmore High School, Texas Southern University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and at Inter Baptist Theological Seminary where he ultimately received his graduate degree. Pastor Compton succeeded his father, the founder of Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his role as Pastor, he is very much committed to community building in the Puritan District Association of Texas, Northeast Ministers Alliance, Houston North Forest Chamber of Commerce, and Intelligent Minds Development Center.

 

Each entity reflects the values instilled in him by his parents throughout his life. He focuses his efforts on spiritual growth, community revitalization, early childhood education and economic development.​​
